JULY ALLEY CAT

20 QUESTIONS?

Who? Anyone with a bicycle.
What? Scavenger hunt style alley cat race.
Where? Under interstate 110 on North Blvd.
When? July 10, registration starts at 7:00, race starts at 7:30, and be back by 8:30.
Why? Fun, adventure, experience, knowledge, stories to tell, and a chance to win some money.
How? Show up with $5 cash, a pen, and a zip top bag to keep your personal items dry.

Things to know:

1. The boundaries are to the north, Capitol Lake Dr., to the east, 19th St./Park Blvd., to the
south, Terrace Ave., and to the west, Mississippi River. This is roughly a one by one and a half
mile area, very easy to cover in an hours time.

2. The over all payout: 1st gets 60%, 2nd gets 40% of entry money. If we get more than 20
participants pay will be 1st 50%, 2nd 30%, and 3rd 20%. Over all top three will get spoke
cards no matter what. DFL (lowest score) gets no cash but will receive a special spoke card.

3. Classes, yes classes. For some extra racing action I have decided to create different classes for
this race. What class you are in will be decided by me when I receive your entry fee. They are
in no particular order; Fixed Gear, Single Speed Freewheel, Multi-Speed Road, Mountain
Bike, Cruiser (with 7 or less speeds), Ladies, BMX, and Mutant Bike. In order to become a
class there must be at least 5 participants in the same class. Each class will be racing to get
their entry fee back as well as for the overall pay out. Yes, ladies may possibly be racing in two
classes at once.

4. For your $5 you will receive a piece of paper with a map on one side and the 20 questions on
the other side. You will not have to get wet to answer the 20 questions but there will be at
least one bonus task that will require you to get wet, so dress for it. The questions will
vary in point value based on distance from the start and difficulty. Highest score wins, and in
the event of a tie, speed of completion will determine the winner. As usual we will ride to
Chealsea's for the awards presentation.

5. I want to see a large turn out for this one guys and gals. All bikes are capable of completing
this course so tell every one with a bike to come give it a try or at least check out this blog. I should have fliers at all the bike shoppes in town by the 17th.

6. It will be hot, and by the end of the race dark. Suggested items would be water, lights, and as
always a helmet. Ride safe, and see y'all in July.
